Technology Committee

The school has an established technology committee. Committee meetings are open to all interested parties in the school. Educational technology knowledge is not a necessary prerequisite for membership on the committee. The most important qualification is the commitment to provide middle level students an education, which will prepare them for the economic and technological realities of their future. The committee is comprised of four technology teachers, two classroom teachers, the media specialist, an administrator, and a community member.

This committee is charged with the initiative to review and revise the technology plan, prioritize the acquisition of technology, seek alternative funding, monitor the equitable use of the technology within the school, determine technology staff development needs, and lastly, model and assist with technology instruction. This committee goes through a process of planning that allows the members the opportunity to develop a vision of what they want their school to become with the use of technology as a tool in the learning process. The committee must focus first on the guiding educational philosophy and educational priorities of this middle school and must seek every course possible to ensure that students, teachers, and parents are provided with current technology advances.
