Third Quarter Projects
Students will research some topic from the history of computers and create a PowerPoint presentation for the class. Back
 
 
First Quarter Assignments
AUP -- Students were asked to share the District's policy on the use of the Internet with a parent, have both sign it and return it to me. Top
Acrostic -- Students were asked to create an acrostic of their first name with words which decribe them, put it into a Word document along with a picture of themselves and then print out one finished document.Top
Square or Rectangle -- The height and reach measurements in centimeters of each student in the class were recorded in an Excel spreadsheet. Then students converted the data into inches, feet, yards and miles as well as calculated the average.Top
Reflection on Square -- Students were asked to answer two questions based on the Square spreadsheet: (1) what three things did you learn to do with a spreadsheet during this unit? (2) looking at the data in your spreadsheet what two conclusions can you make for them?Top
Golf spreadsheet -- Take the raw data of the yardage for a golf course and create a spreadsheet. Convert data to feet, inches, centimeters and meters as well as find the average length of a hole and total length of the course.Top
What if we didn't stop growing? -- In Science and Math classes students began a unit to detemine rate of growth. In Tech students created a spreadsheet with their data, let the computer calculate the measurements at different years, convert the data to metric measurements and create meaningful graphs.Top
Surface Area -- In Math students gathered data for computing the surface area of their body. In Tech class they created a spreadsheet, performed various calculations and converted the data from centimeters to inches.Top

 

Guidelines for Computer Use


· Only log on with your own ID number and password.
· Password is either your team's color or "explorer."
· Use a Header for your name, group and date.
· Always use PRINT PREVIEW before sending anything to the printer.
· Get permission from a teacher before you print.
· Get permission from a teacher before you go on line.
· If you copy any information or pictures from the Internet, copy the URL also.
· The Internet may only be used for school-related work.
· Never print out a web site.
· Never check your e-mail from a school computer.
