Twelve Scofield students were among 50 other
Stamford students who participated in a Grade 4-8 Stamford Challenge-Math
event on Thursday, January 8, at the
Academy of Information Technology & Engineering (“AITE”).
This event was designed to encourage students who enjoy solving math problems
to challenge themselves in a timed, competitive environment with other Stamford
math students. Participants represented eleven elementary schools and all
five middle schools.
Scofield students Jonathan Xu, 7th grade and Ben Paz,
8th grade took first place on their grade levels, while Sana Suhail, 7th
grade and Suraj Jagtiani and Casey Zhu, 6th grade, were in the top quartile
for their grade levels.
Other Scofield participants were Phillip Ira, 8th
grade; 7th graders Charles Ira, Victor Dai, Leah Rubin, Sherene Anthony and
Siddesh Gannu and 6th grader Ozzie Acuna. Congratulations to all of these
outstanding Scofield mathletes!
