Louise McMinn, an eighth grade science teacher
from Scofield, recently traveled to Churchill, Manitoba for an Earthwatch
"Live in the Field"
experience, funded by HSBC bank. Lousie spent ten days studying the effects
of climate change on the vegetation and soil.
While in Churchill, Louise
video conferenced with her students and parents. Students communicated
with her on a daily basis via her Earthwatch blog. Louise will continue
to integrate
her research and photos throughout the year as her students study geology
and climate change. Recently, Louise presented her experience at the Connecticut
Science Teachers' annual conference
