Forty-one of the district's most enthusiastic grade 4-7 math students participated in a district-wide Mathlete preseason warm-up Friday evening, November 21, 2008. This event included individual written contests for each grade level -- provided by New England Math League www.mathleague.com. The objectives of this event were to have fun solving challenging math problems, to encourage student interest in more-challenging levels of mathematics and to celebrate math achievement.

Ten Scofield students participated in the event, and took first and second place on both the 6th and 7th grade level.
